Tambopata Tour 3 Days / 2 Nights
Tambopata 3 days/2 nights is located in the northeastern region of the department of Madre de Dios, in the Amazon rainforest of southern Peru. Recognized for its exceptional natural diversity and biodiversity, this area is one of the most outstanding ecotourism destinations in the country.
Located in the Madre de Dios river basin, on the border with Bolivia and Brazil, Tambopata 3 days/2 nights is accessed mainly through the Puerto Maldonado airport. From there, visitors can travel by river or land to the various lodges and tourist accommodations in the region.
Known as the “biodiversity capital of Peru”, the Tambopata province is home to an extraordinary variety of plant and animal species. These include more than 1,300 types of butterflies, 632 species of birds, 169 species of mammals, 180 species of reptiles and amphibians, as well as thousands of types of plants. Among the emblematic species are the jaguar, the black caiman, the macaw, the toucan and the harpy eagle.
Itinerario
Day 1: PUERTO MALDONADO /ISLA DE LOS MONOS/CANOPY EN LOS ÁRBOLES/LODGE
- We will pick you up either from the airport or the bus terminal. Then, we will go to the captaincy port, where we will board a motorized boat to navigate the Madre de Dios River. Once at our lodge, you will have the opportunity to settle in and rest. Afterwards, we will take a walk along the lodge’s trails, accompanied by our guide, who will give us information about the fauna and flora of the area. Afterwards, we will enjoy lunch.
Day 3:CANOPY/ KAYAK/PESCA/LODGE
- We will start the day with breakfast at the lodge. Then, we will depart in our kayaks from the lodge, navigating the Madre de Dios River until we reach the adventure activity center. There, we will have the opportunity to climb a 20-meter high tower to contemplate the jungle from the heights. After this exciting experience, we will return to the lodge to enjoy a comforting lunch, and after a short rest, we will venture into a fishing session in a small river, where we can try to catch piranhas and other Amazonian fish. Once this activity is over, we will return to the lodge to pack our bags and start our return to Puerto Maldonado around 5:00 pm.
