This program offers a complete immersion in two of the region’s most outstanding attractions: Monkey Island, a refuge for primate families, and the impressive Sandoval Lake, located in the Tambopata Candamo Reserved Zone. Designed specifically for nature lovers and bird and wildlife watching, this 3-day tour will take you to live an unforgettable experience in the lush jungle of Tambopata.

During the tour, you will immerse yourself in the dense nature of Tambopata, exploring dense forests, huge rivers and a variety of birds, reptiles and insects. In addition, you will have the opportunity to marvel at the diversity of wild flora species. In the evenings, you will enjoy enchanting evenings around the campfire, where captivating stories about the Peruvian jungle will be shared.

ITINERARIO

DIA 1 KAYAK |MONKEY ISLAND| NIGHT WALK

DAY 1

  • We will start this excursion with Machupicchu Journey at 9:30 a.m. from the meeting point, navigating by boat on the Madre de Dios River until we arrive at our lodge. Upon arrival, we will be greeted with a refreshing local fruit drink and receive detailed information about the activities planned for the day.
  • Once settled in, we will head into the jungle on a guided walk to admire ancient trees and, if fortune smiles on us, we may spot various animals such as monkeys, birds and insects.
  • Lunch will be served at 1:00 p.m., followed by an exciting kayaking session on the Madre de Dios River. We will navigate to Monkey Island, where we will have the opportunity to interact with a family of these curious primates.
  • In the late afternoon, we will venture on a night walk along the river in search of caimans in their natural habitat as they hunt. After this activity, a delicious dinner awaits, followed by the option to participate in a lively campfire, where we will share fascinating stories about the jungle.
  • Finally, we will spend the night at the lodge, immersed in the magic of the Amazon rainforest.
DIA 2 SANDOVAL LAKE | SPORT FISHING

DAY 2

  • We will start early in the morning to explore Lake Sandoval, walking about 3 kilometers. Along the way, we will be able to admire mineral-laden palm trees, where, with luck, we will spot macaws that come early to feed on their fruits. Once at the lake, we will marvel at the exuberant flora and fauna that surrounds it, from monkeys to turtles, caimans and even, if we are lucky, we may spot some giant otters.
  • Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., after which we will engage in sport fishing for species such as piranhas, paco, gamitana, palometa and other local fish, which we will prepare for our dinner.
  • Our last activity of the day will be an exciting night walk. During the walk, we will encounter reptiles, frogs and toads, while delighting in the natural symphony of the jungle.
  • Dinner will be served at 8:00 p.m., culminating a day full of unforgettable experiences in the Amazon rainforest.
DIA 3 TAPIR WALK

DAY 3

  • We will start the day with breakfast at 7:30 a.m., followed by our departure on the Tapir trail. This trail will take us through an area populated by aguaje palm trees, characterized by its humidity, where we may find traces of other animals and perhaps have the opportunity to spot some rodents, toucans or even wild pigs.
  • Lunch will be served at 1:00 p.m., after which we will enjoy the afternoon at leisure to relax the body before we start packing our belongings.
  • We will prepare to return to the city at 4:30 p.m., concluding our exciting jungle adventure.
