5 Days/4 Nights-Tambopata Tour

Tambopata, in its 5 days and 4 nights program, is a natural treasure in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. This reserve offers an incomparable experience of immersion in the biodiversity of the Amazon rainforest., presenting an impressive variety of flora and fauna that fascinates visitors. From towering trees to vibrant birds and exotic mammals, every corner of Tambopata reveals the amazing complexity of nature. In addition to its biological richness, Tambopata offers exciting adventures, such as jungle hikes, boat rides on winding rivers and nights under a starry sky. This reserve transcends its function as a tourist destination; it is a wildlife sanctuary that inspires admiration and respect for our planet.

Tambopata, with its 5 days and 4 nights program, is known as the “biodiversity capital of Peru”. Here, you will find an abundant variety of flora and fauna species, including more than 1,300 types of butterflies, 632 species of birds, 169 species of mammals, 180 species of reptiles and amphibians, as well as thousands of plants. Among the emblematic species are the jaguar, the black caiman, the macaw, the toucan and the harpy eagle.

Itinerario

Day 1: PUERTO MALDONADO /VIAJE 4X4/LODGE

We will be waiting for you at the airport or at the bus terminal in the city of Puerto Maldonado.
After meeting you, we will embark on a trip in a 4×4 van that will last approximately 2 hours until we reach the community of Filadelfia.
From there, we will head to the Capitanía port, where we will board a motorized boat to navigate the Madre de Dios River.
During the trip, we will have the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the riverside landscape.
Once at the lodge, we will hike along the trails accompanied by our guide, who will give us explanations about the fauna and flora of the area. Upon returning to the lodge, we will enjoy a dinner prepared with local ingredients.
To end the day, we will take a night walk along the trails of the lodge to observe the nocturnal fauna and insects that emerge during the night.
We will wake up at 5:00 am to start our day early. We will board a motorized boat and navigate upstream on the Tambopata River.
Our first stop will be at the macaw clay lick “Chuncho”, where we will witness a great variety of birds and learn about the importance of clay in the daily diet of these birds and other mammals throughout the year.
We will enjoy a delicious breakfast in front of the macaw clay lick.

Day 2: COLLPA DE GUACAMAYOS/LODGE

We will wake up at 5:00 am to start our day early. We will board a motorized boat and navigate upstream on the Tambopata River.
Our first stop will be at the macaw clay lick “Chuncho”, where we will witness a great variety of birds and learn about the importance of clay in the daily diet of these birds and other mammals throughout the year.
We will enjoy a delicious breakfast in front of the macaw clay lick.
Afterwards, we will visit a small museum located at the checkpoint to learn more about the fauna and flora of the region.
We will have lunch at our lodge and prepare to return to Puerto Maldonado.
We will board a boat to navigate the Madre de Dios River to our next lodge, where we will spend the night.

Day 5: CIRCUITO DE AVENTURES/PUERTO MALDONADO/AEROPUERTO

We will start the day having breakfast at the lodge before getting ready for an exciting day. We will ride our kayaks on the Madre de Dios River from the lodge and navigate to the adventure activity center.
There, we will venture up a 20-meter high tower, from where we will be able to admire the vast jungle from the heights of the trees.
After this enriching experience, we will return to the lodge to enjoy a comforting lunch. Later, after a short rest, we will head to a small river to practice fishing, where we will have the opportunity to catch piranhas and other Amazonian fish.
Finally, we will return to the lodge to pack our bags and start our return trip to Puerto Maldonado.
