DESCRIPTION:
Bahuaja-Sonene National Park is home to a wide variety of ecosystems, including tropical rainforests, savannas, wetlands, and crystal clear rivers. This diversity of habitats provides refuge to a wide range of flora and fauna, many of which are endemic to the region and endangered, such as the jaguar, spectacled bear, tapir and blue-headed macaw.
In addition to its importance in terms of biodiversity conservation, Bahuaja-Sonene National Park also plays a crucial role in climate regulation and the provision of ecosystem services for local communities and the region in general, including regulation of the water cycle and carbon sequestration.
The park offers opportunities for ecotourism and adventure activities, such as jungle hikes, bird watching, boat rides on the rivers and the possibility of interacting with local indigenous communities that preserve ancestral traditions.
LOCATION:
It is a vast protected area located in southeastern Peru, in the Madre de Dios and Puno region, covering an area of more than 1,000,000 hectares. This national park is internationally recognized for its exceptional biological diversity and for being one of the last refuges of endangered species in the Amazon.
WEATHER:
is located in a place where tropical humid climate and Amazonian subtropical converge.The area receives annual rainfall and equivalent to 2,400mm.The average temperature is 30Oc, but in summer can reach up to 38Oc or dropping to 8Oc.
